Intermediate Quantity Surveyor- North London

£50,000-60,000 DOE

We are assisting one of London’s leading Main Contractors with a turnover of over £80 million who is seeking to hire an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing and expanding team in North London. As Intermediate Quantity Surveyor you will provide commercial support including assisting in developing commercial strategy for specific projects by maintaining and maximising the profitability of the projects, through timely requests for payment, minimising cost including sub-contractor, agreement of variations, securing of payments at the appropriate time and accurate reporting.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Assist in developing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects.

  • Assist in developing comprehensive project budgets based on project scope, specifications and contractual requirements.

  • Collaborate with project teams and engineers to process and refine cost estimates and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Evaluate and analyse contracts and identify key terms, conditions and obligations related to cost management.

  • Verify quantities and measurements on site, collaborating with project teams to address errors and ensure accuracy.

  • Help in implementing effective cost control measures to monitor project expenditures and identify potential issues and present reliable solutions.

  • Help in generating regular financial reports and forecasts, providing analysis and insights on project cost performance.

  • Participate in project meetings, providing expertise and insights on cost management issues and strategies.

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with a Specialised/Main Contractor.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical, organisation, communication and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

  • Knowledgeable in QS softwares and tools.
