BIM Engineer – Data Centres – Finland

Our client is an established main contractor working across Europe specialising in the delivery of Data Centre construction projects on behalf of global blue-chip clients. They offer a full turnkey service for their clients from design, construction and handover across the full range of CSA (civil, structural, architectural), MEP (mechanical and electrical) and commissioning works 

The need now exists for an experienced BIM Engineer to join the team working on a Hyper-Scale Data Centre new build scheme in Finland.

Responsibilities

• BIM Model Development and Management: Lead the development, coordination, and management of 3D BIM models for data centre construction. Create and maintain detailed models for architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, ensuring integration across disciplines.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all design and construction activities are accurately captured in the BIM model. Facilitate regular coordination meetings to resolve issues, track progress, and ensure alignment with project goals.
• Clash Detection and Issue Resolution: Use BIM software to conduct clash detection between different disciplines (structural, MEP, etc.) to identify and resolve design conflicts early in the process. Ensure that conflicts are addressed proactively to avoid costly delays during construction.
• BIM Implementation and Process Improvement: Implement BIM standards, procedures, and best practices for the data centre construction project. Continuously evaluate and improve BIM workflows and processes to optimize collaboration, efficiency, and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
• Documentation and Reporting: Ensure that all BIM-related documentation, including drawings, schedules, and reports, are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with project requirements. Prepare presentations and reports for stakeholders to communicate project progress and design information.

Requirements

Must have relevant degree or equivalent trades background.

Ideal Candidate will be based in Finland or happy to work on a rotational basis.

Must have Electrical Background in Data Centres.

€70,000 - €80,000 + Full rotational Package
