Our client is an established main contractor working across Europe specialising in the delivery of construction and engineering projects on behalf of global blue-chip clients. They offer a full turnkey service for their clients from design, construction, and handover across the full range of CSA (civil, structural, architectural), MEP (mechanical and electrical) and commissioning works.  

The need now exists for an experienced Commissioning Lead to work on projects within various sectors such as Life Sciences, Advanced Technology, Data Centres, and Fire Protection. As Commissioning Lead, you will oversee and manage the commissioning process of projects which includes coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure all systems, equipment, and facilities are tested and operational before project handover. 

Key Responsibilities & Requirements: 

  • Define commissioning objectives, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with project timelines and goals. 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive commissioning plan for the project, covering all systems and equipment ensuring policies and procedures are clearly understood, effectively communicated, and consistently implemented. 

  • Work closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and clients to define commissioning requirements and expectations ensuring clear communication and coordination among all stakeholders during the commissioning process. 

  • Review design and installation documentation to confirm readiness for commissioning. 

  • Oversee and manage testing, adjusting, and balancing activities to ensure system performance meets design specifications. 

  • Validate system functionality, safety features, and integration across all disciplines.  

  • Prepare detailed commissioning reports, including test results, punch lists, and issue resolutions.  

  • Develop and deliver operations and maintenance (O&M) manuals to clients as part of the handover process. 

  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the commissioning phase. 

  • Provide support during the project handover phase and assist with operator training and system start-up. 

  • Offer post-handover assistance to address operational issues or optimize system performance. 

  • Degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or relevant field. 

  • 5+ years of commissioning experience within construction, preferably in mission critical facilities or data centre infrastructure projects. 

  • Relevant commissioning training/ qualifications such as NETA/ASHRAE and other relevant commissioning certification is desirable.  

  • Extensive expertise in mechanical, electrical, and control systems for critical infrastructure. 

  • Proficiency in commissioning management tools and software such as Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint or similar is desirable. 

  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities. 

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams. 

  • Ability to travel in European countries when required.
