Our company is currently looking for a detail-oriented Document Controller to be working in Kent, UK for a bespoke Fit-Out/Refurbishment Contractor with a turnover of over £80 million. As a Document Controller you will be responsible for managing & controlling documents ensuring accuracy, reliability, accessibility and compliance with established procedures.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the flow of project documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards and procedures.

  • Establish and maintain document control processes and systems to track project documents throughout their lifecycle.

  • Coordinate document review, approval, and distribution processes, liaising with project teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders as necessary.

  • Organise and maintain project files and records, both electronically and in hard copy, in a systematic and accessible manner.

  • Generate regular reports and updates on document status, distribution, and revisions to project stakeholders.

  • Provide training and support to project team members on document control procedures and systems.

  • Ensure adherence to data security and confidentiality protocols in handling sensitive project information.

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller or similar role in the construction industry, with exposure to large-scale projects.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

  • Familiarity with construction documentation, terminology, and procedures.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Knowledgeable in ASITE, Aconex & 4 Projects and other Document Controller software and tools.

  • Strong organisation, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
