Electrical Commissioning Engineer | Sweden | Critical Infrastructure Projects
A leading international contractor delivering large-scale data centre and high-tech infrastructure projects across Europe is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join its project team in Sandviken, Sweden. This is a full-time position offering the chance to work on one of Europe’s most high-profile data centre builds within a structured and supportive commissioning environment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical commissioning, a keen eye for detail, and experience in complex electrical systems including LV/MV equipment, UPS systems, and BMS controls. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring all systems are tested, commissioned, and documented to the highest standards, contributing directly to the safe and timely delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee commissioning activities for electrical vendors and subcontractors on site
Ensure all commissioning tasks are completed in line with project scope and compliance requirements
Track progress against commissioning milestones and report regularly to management
Review, manage, and track vendor commissioning documentation and test records
Witness FATs, FWTs, and all critical testing procedures as needed
Conduct daily commissioning inspections, tagging procedures, and sign-off activities
Interface with QA/QC and Approved Person teams to ensure documentation and procedures align
Support internal and vendor meetings to resolve issues and keep commissioning on schedule
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and drive a culture of quality and compliance on site
What You’ll Bring:
Electrical Engineering degree, Building Services qualification, or certified electrical trade background
At least 3 years’ experience in electrical commissioning on industrial or mission-critical projects
Hands-on experience with LV/MV electrical systems, UPS units, switchgear, and controls
Excellent knowledge of electrical testing, verification standards, and commissioning best practices
Familiarity with data centre, pharmaceutical, or complex commercial environments is an advantage
Strong communication skills and ability to manage subcontractors and documentation workflows
Safety-first mindset and knowledge of quality assurance and EHS procedures
