Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is an established mechanical and electrical engineering consultancy with 25-years trading history and a strong client-base across London and the Southeast region working on a diverse range of projects including: Offices, Education, Residential, Healthcare and Warehousing / Industrial

We are now seeking and Electrical Design Engineer to join the team based at their London HQ in the City. You will be part of the Electrical Design team and your role will place you as an essential point of contact within this client-facing M&E Consultancy. You will design the electrical systems from the pre-determined client brief coordinating with project design team to meet the Client’s deliverables.

Key Duties:
•    Design of Electrical Services either from a site survey or scheme report, drafting drawings, undertaking calculations using IES and production of specifications.
•    Electrical surveys
•    Liaison with in-house Mechanical, CAD and Secretarial staff to enable the production process and meet the needs of the business.
•    Use of ACad and BIM systems. Undertake training in relation to REVIT MEP.
•    Some basic project management duties including acting as lead consultant & chairing meetings 
•    Defects inspections and issue appropriate certification.
•    Write and produce OMM (operation and maintenance) manuals.
•    Production of SBem and Sap Calculations.

Desired experience
•    Minimum HNC Building Services Engineering
•    Strong I.T literacy, including experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word
•    Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
•    Full driving license
