Our client, a leading Engineering Contractor operating across Europe, committed to delivering innovative and sustainable solutions, is urgently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electrical Quality Engineer with HV/MV background. Working closely with engineering, construction, supply chain, and project management teams Electrical Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems, components, and installations meet the necessary quality standards which involves developing and implementing quality control processes, inspecting electrical installations, and troubleshooting to ensure the safety, functionality, and reliability of electrical systems in projects. 

Key Responsibilities & Requirements: 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes for all electrical systems and components, ensuring they meet internal and external standards. 

  • Conduct regular inspections and tests on electrical systems, including power distribution, wiring, control panels, and other equipment, to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety codes, and quality requirements. 

  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including inspection reports, test results, quality control plans, and any non-conformance reports (NCRs) ensuring all documentation is meticulously kept and communicated to relevant stakeholders. 

  • Identify, analyse, and report any defects or issues in electrical systems and implement corrective actions and preventive measures promptly. 

  • Evaluate the quality of electrical components and materials from suppliers and vendors, ensuring they meet project standards and perform quality audits and assessments of suppliers as needed. 

  • Work closely with supply chain, design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure electrical systems are designed and installed to meet quality expectations.  

  • Continuously review and improve electrical quality control processes, identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and reliability in electrical installations and testing. 

  • Ensure that all quality control procedures align with safety protocols and best practices promoting a culture of safety and quality in all aspects of electrical system implementation. 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent electrical trade qualifications. 

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role within construction and engineering in Ireland/UK is desirable. 

  • HV/MV cable jointing, substation, transmission & distribution experience are desirable. 

  • ISO9001 auditor certification and experience is beneficial. 

  • In-depth understanding of electrical systems, components, and installations, as well as quality standards and industry codes. 

  • Strong attention to detail to identify issues and ensure that all electrical systems meet stringent quality standards. 

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, concise reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
