Mechanical Design Engineer – Data Centres – Dublin & Glasgow

Our client is a €2bn turnover, Tier:1 main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major, complex schemes with a particular emphasis on Data Centres, Pharmaceutical and Life Science projects
 

Due to continued growth in the region of their Data Centre projects division, our client is now seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Design Mechanical Systems: Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling, and ventilation systems, tailored to data center requirements.
• Ensure System Efficiency and Compliance: Ensure that all mechanical designs meet energy efficiency standards, sustainability goals, and regulatory compliance for data center operations.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with electrical, structural, and project management teams to integrate mechanical systems into the overall design.
• Oversee Installation and Testing: Provide technical guidance during the installation and commissioning phases, ensuring mechanical systems are installed per specifications and tested for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and Optimize Designs: Identify design flaws or inefficiencies and propose innovative solutions to enhance the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.

Requirements

Must have a third level qualification in Mechanical or Design Engineering

Experience with BIM360 on large scale projects/ data centre projects

Excellent computer skills.
