Mechanical Estimator – Glasgow

A leading M&E contractor with a proven track record across data centres, life sciences, and advanced technology projects is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join its growing pre-construction team.

This is a permanent role offering exposure to high-value projects across Europe, with strong support for career development, technical growth, and long-term progression within a forward-thinking, people-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive tenders for mechanical elements of complex projects.
Review and assess subcontractor quotations, ensuring alignment with project requirements and technical specifications.
Perform detailed quantity take-offs from tender drawings and documentation.
Contribute to tender review meetings and engage in pre- and post-tender discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in identifying risks and opportunities during the bid process.
Provide market intelligence to management, including pricing trends and competitor analysis.


Requirements:

A qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
3–5 years’ experience in a mechanical estimating role within the construction or M&E sectors.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems in building services or industrial environments.
Strong IT and estimating software skills.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication abilities.
Ability to manage deadlines, work independently, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Exposure to large-scale data centre or high-tech facility projects.
Background in construction delivery or M&E project support.
Confidence working within a multidisciplinary team and liaising with clients and consultants.
