A leading European engineering services contractor is looking for a driven and detail-focused Mechanical Project Engineer to support the delivery of cutting-edge construction projects in Sweden. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will coordinate design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases on technically complex construction projects. Working closely with project and site teams, subcontractors, and design consultants, you’ll ensure technical specifications are met, safety is prioritised, and quality is consistently delivered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collate, review, and coordinate mechanical and multi-disciplinary design documentation
  • Attend project handover meetings and assess value engineering opportunities
  • Prepare detailed and fully coordinated construction drawings
  • Manage and evaluate technical submittals, RFIs, and supplier documentation
  • Liaise with contractors and design consultants on technical and commercial matters
  • Support procurement processes, material requisitions, and order tracking
  • Conduct quality control inspections and walkdowns against P&IDs and layout drawings
  • Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and test packs for mechanical systems
  • Maintain project documentation using digital platforms
  • Participate in technical meetings and progress reviews
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (or equivalent trade qualification)
  • 4+ years of experience delivering mechanical packages in sectors such as pharma, industrial, or data centres
  • Strong understanding of technical compliance, quality assurance, and safety regulations
  • Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors and interface with multidisciplinary teams
  • Skilled in document control, drawing review, and technical reporting
  • Commercially aware, with understanding of project financials and variation tracking
  • Confident communicator and problem-solver with strong planning skills
