Mechanical Quantity Surveyor – Sweden – Data Centre
We are currently partnering with a multi-disciplinary engineering services contractor specialising in Pharmaceuticals, Data Centres, Power Transmission and distribution. Due to their continued success they are seeking a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join and grow with their team in Sweden.
Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Preparation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical works on construction projects, including HVAC, piping, fire protection systems, and plumbing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
Tendering and Procurement: Assist in the preparation of tender documents, review contractors' bids, and support procurement activities to ensure the most cost-effective and efficient selection of suppliers and subcontractors.
Measurement and Valuation: Perform measurements of mechanical works, prepare valuations, and ensure that payments to contractors and subcontractors are made in accordance with project agreements and work completed.
Contract Administration: Assist in managing contracts for mechanical works, ensuring that terms are met, variations are accounted for, and issues related to pricing and work execution are resolved.
Cost Control and Monitoring: Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular reports on the financial status of mechanical works, and identifying any discrepancies or potential cost overruns.
Risk Management and Reporting: Identify potential risks related to mechanical systems and costs, develop strategies for mitigating risks, and ensure that all financial documentation is up to date and properly reported to the client and project team.
Requirements
Minimum 4+ years of Quantity surveying experience essential on Mechanical Projects.
3rd level qualification in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying ideally coupled with a technical background as either Plumber/Pipefitter (or similar) or Mechanical Engineer
Experience working on mechanical value projects in-excess of €5million within the data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or commercial sectors.
