MEP Project Manager – Major Building Services Projects – Hull, UK
A leading multi-disciplinary engineering contractor with a rich legacy in Mechanical and Electrical services is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead the delivery of major projects across the UK and mainland Europe. Based in Bristol, this role offers an exciting opportunity to manage end-to-end MEP scope on high-profile projects across sectors such as industrial, pharmaceutical, data centre, logistics, and healthcare.
As the MEP Project Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of both mechanical and electrical installations, from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure successful and safe project delivery, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend project start-up and coordination meetings, ensuring a clear understanding of MEP scope and specifications.
Manage and track RFIs, technical submittals, approvals, and compliance documentation across mechanical and electrical packages.
Maintain accurate labour tracking and lead weekly progress reporting, including variation management.
Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of project plant, materials, and equipment.
Lead site-based teams during construction and commissioning phases, ensuring alignment with construction and testing programmes.
Generate and manage snag lists, support the commissioning plan, and drive resolution of outstanding works.
Liaise closely with main contractors, subcontractors, and clients to maintain smooth communication and address project milestones.
Oversee document control systems, including commissioning records and project handover documentation.
Attend regular site meetings and subcontractor reviews to manage performance and resolve issues promptly.
Promote innovation and continuous improvement, sharing lessons learned and best practices across teams.
Candidate Profile:
Background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
Proven experience delivering full MEP services on large-scale or complex construction projects.
Confident in managing subcontractors, technical coordination, and progress tracking.
Strong understanding of project commissioning, quality assurance, and construction programming.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage client relationships.
Experience working in sectors such as pharmaceutical, industrial, data centres, or healthcare preferred.
