To €80,000 DOE + Package Our client, an established Main Contractor with extensive operations across Ireland, UK, and Europe is in need of an experienced Senior Estimator for a manufacturing facility in Galway. With a high level of expertise in cost analysis, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, Senior Estimator will be responsible for managing the complete estimating process for large-scale projects, including developing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project plans and specifications, and coordinating with various departments to ensure accurate pricing. Key Responsibilities & Requirements: Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Lead and manage the bid process, including coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, sending out bid invitations, analyzing quotes, and ensuring competitive and complete bid submissions. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies related to cost overruns, project scheduling, and unforeseen challenges. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope, cost, and timelines. Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to gather accurate pricing information and ensure competitive bids. Continuously monitor market trends, material prices, and labor rates to ensure estimates remain up-to-date and reflective of current industry standards. Provide guidance and training to junior estimators and ensure adherence to company estimating policies and procedures. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the estimating process by evaluating current practices and recommending enhancements. Prepare cost summaries and analysis for senior management, presenting estimates clearly and concisely. Third level qualifications, CSCS, and with a good knowledge of the NEC/ICE/ICC forms of Contract. 5+ years of estimating experience within construction. Proficiency in estimating software and tools. In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and industry standards. Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present estimates clearly and persuasively.
