We are assisting an international multi-disciplinary Top Tier Contractor and leading provider of top notch construction and engineering services in their search for an experienced Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to be working in the company's projects in London, UK. As Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing cost aspects of mechanical and electrical projects ensuring accurate estimation, effective budgeting and responsible financial management. The company is focused in operating across Ireland, the UK and Europe and has become the engineering and construction services provider of choice in growth segments such as pharmaceuticals, data centres, life sciences, industrial, commercial, residential and power transmission and distribution.  

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions without compromising quality or performance.

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical and electrical works.  

  • Develop comprehensive budgets, considering all cost components and ensuring it is aligned with client expectations and project requirements. 

  • Oversee cost control measures, identifying potential commercial risks, and promptly reporting them to management.

  • Collaborating with the estimation team to ensure accurate quantity take-offs and bills of quantities for Mechanical & Electrical systems and installations in each project.

  • Evaluate electrical drawings and specification revisions to ensure any changes are identified.

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess work progress, validate quantities, and address any issues.

  • Evaluating subcontractor claims and preparing reports on quantities, rates, and payment applications.

  • Maintaining and implementing systems for tracking labour resources and performance on Mechanical & Electrical works for each project.

  • Supervise labour productivity, efficiency, and performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures.

  • Maintaining accurate records of all Mechanical & Electrical cost-related documents, contracts, and correspondence.

  • Essential Quantity Surveying qualifications.

  • Relevant experience as Mechanical & Electrical QS.

  • Proficiency in Mechanical & Electrical cost control, estimation and quantity surveying techniques.

  • Excellent IT skills.

  • Excellent delegation and organisational skills. 

  • Ability to work and collaborate with the wider project team is essential. 

  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral required.

  • Familiarity with local regulations and industry standards related to Mechanical & Electrical works.
