We are assisting an established and leading bespoke Fit Out Contractor with a turnover of £100 million in their search for a motivated and ambitious Trainee Quantity Surveyor. The responsibilities for this role encompass being a collaborative team player, demonstrating willingness to learn, and taking ownership of a defined scope of work.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Support in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment and other expenses.

  • Contribute to the development of project budgets and cost plans under the supervision of senior quantity surveyors.

  • Team up with project teams to track cost, monitor variances and identify cost- saving opportunities.

  • Assist Senior Quantity Surveyor with the preparations of commercial reports.

  • Assist in conducting quantity takeoffs and measurements from drawings and specifications to determine the quantities materials, labour and equipment required for construction activities.

  • Verify quantities and measurements on site, and assist in resolving discrepancies as needed.

  • Oversee the cost and hours of all labour hire subcontractors.

  • Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, budgets and expenditures and update project cost reports regularly.

  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on cost management on cost management, procurement and project progress.

  • Third level qualification is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in Quantity Surveying softwares and other relevant tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
